Volunteer from Wherever
There are many off-site activities that groups can participate in that will directly benefit the families being served by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass. We know many groups like to assemble bags of goodies or complete crafts together to benefit our families. If that’s you, check out this list of ideas!
Other ideas include:
DIY Fundraising
Every financial gift, large and small, is appreciated. Whether you want to host a traditional fundraiser, take your fundraising online, or participate in an event that benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass we have to tools to help you get started!
Canned Food Drive
Often, it is difficult for our families to get out to the grocery store. We rely on the generosity of donors to help us keep our pantry stocked so families here can remain nourished at this time when they truly need to remain healthy for their children. Breakfast cereals are especially needed at this time, but all non-perishables are appreciated.
Pull for the House
Our House collects pull tabs (commonly known as pop tabs) from aluminum beverage cans for recycling. The money raised is put into our Family Fund, so we can do special things for those who stay with us. This is a great school or office project and an easy way that everyone can help us raise awareness and funds. When everyone pulls together, a little tab can make a big difference! Click here and here for marketing materials to start your own collection today!
Shop from our Wish List
In a house filled with 21 families, we use up household supplies quickly. Consult our wish list for items we need on an ongoing basis, and have a collection at your school or workplace! Copies of the Wish List are available here and are updated as our needs change.
Help tell our Story
Like so many good stories, ours is not told often enough! Many in our community don’t know about our programs to benefit families and children; the great need that we fill, or the great volunteer opportunities that we offer.
Donate a Vehicle
If you think that old car in your driveway isn’t worth much, we would like to turn that thinking around. Through our partnership with the One Car One Difference® program, your donated vehicle can help provide families a home-away-from-home at the Ronald McDonald House in Lexington, Kentucky, keeping them near their hospitalized child.
