Meal Groups
Nothing keeps families together like a “home” cooked meal!
We have recently hired a Chef to help increase the nutritional offerings for our guests, and we’re excited to now offer two distinct ways to volunteer as a dinner group.
Dinner Groups: Help us feed our guest families! Groups of up to 8 volunteers are invited to come from 5pm to 8pm each evening. Chef Tyreese will be with us 5 days a week and will be coordinating the menu selection to ensure a variety of delicious and nutritious foods for our families, as well as purchasing the foods in bulk to take advantage of discounts and donations where possible.
Volunteer groups will have an option between two ways to serve dinner with us:
Choose a date on Tuesday-Saturday: Leave the planning & purchasing up to the Chef and join him on the chosen date to act as sous chefs/helpers. It’ll be a great chance to learn alongside a professional Chef and still give back in a meaningful way! Instead of purchasing ingredients, we’ll ask Groups to make a monetary donation to help off-set the cost of the food purchased by our Chef. This is a great option if you don’t have the time to coordinate the menu/purchase ingredients or have a less experienced group of cooks.
Choose a Sunday-Monday: Experience our more traditional dinner group experience where you pick the menu, purchase ingredients, and come cook in our kitchen. You won’t need to make a donation since you will be providing the food you’re cooking. This is a great option if you know what you want to cook and have an experienced group.
Breakfast Groups: Want to provide a fun breakfast for our guests on the weekends? Sign up for a Saturday or Sunday morning, bring the ingredients and enjoy a morning of service!

Baking Groups
Our kitchen is also available for “treat creation,” all you need to bring is the ingredients and yourself! Baking Groups are a great way to introduce your family or youth group to the wonderful gift of community service. Whether you are looking for a great activity for the young or the young at heart, the scent of freshly baking goodies are sure to lift the spirits of those families staying at the House. These groups are scheduled at 10:00 am or 1:00 pm daily.
Sandwich Groups
Most of our guest families spend long days at the hospital with their children, and to help reduce their food costs we love to provide grab & go lunches for them. Your small group can bring sandwich ingredients and fill our fridge so our guests can fill their bellies! These groups are scheduled at 10:00 am or 1:00 pm daily.
Work Groups
Occasional one-time group volunteer opportunities are also available. Perfect for students, community service projects, and groups employed by service minded organizations this volunteer experience demonstrates that many hands make light work.
A home for 21 families demands continuous clean-up, which is easy if many join together to tackle the jobs. Come in to help clean out kitchen cupboards, disinfect the playroom, tidy up storage areas, dust the bookshelves, organize the linen closet and more! Household chores can be fun when done in cooperation with friends, in an environment which appreciates your visit. Chore groups are scheduled based on House needs and availability, groups of 10 or less are preferred.
