Volunteer in Our Family Room
Ronald McDonald Family Room® at Kentucky Children’s Hospital
Upon entering the Ronald McDonald Family Room located within Kentucky Children’s Hospital, families are greeted by volunteers who act as host or hostess of the room. Volunteers register visitors, explain what services are available, and help families to feel at home.
Volunteers who will provide a warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere for families are urgently needed for the Family Room. They also help to keep the room neat and tidy, restock snacks and beverages, maintain statistical records, and enforce policies.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and must be able to work at least two, three-hour shifts per month.
Please consider carefully whether the commitment of this opportunity will fit your schedule or other life commitments. Our process to become a Family Room volunteer is comprehensive; we require an application, interview, reference forms, drug screening, background check and a two-hour training session at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital (costs carried by the Hospital).
